I am really excited that we will have the opportunity to further the “Coffee for Kids” project that we started last year. The orphanage is doing an addition to one of their buildings that will add on to the security room, as well as add a coffee roasting/reception room. This area will also act as a little “shop” that will sell the roasted coffee that has been roasted on site with the roaster/equipment brought down last year. They will also sell handmade wares from local women, who will use this income to support their families.
Our team is trying to raise money to pour the concrete floor, tile the floor and add the windows. If you would like to help further the “Coffee for Kids” project in Solola, Guatemala, you can write checks out to Nido del Aguila, and I will bring them with me when I go. (It is a 501c3, tax deductible charity) You can simple leave checks in a payment drop box, or let me know you would like to contribute, and you can send it to me. If you would like to give cash, simply put it in an envelope, label it for Eagles Nest and leave it in the payment box. If you would like to contribute to the "October Birthdays" Party/VBS, you can write a check directly to me, and it will be used for supplies.
If you would rather support the kids by helping supply them with their daily needs, the orphanage is asking for donations of:
Huggies Diapers sizes 2, 3 and 4
Double A batteries
Triple A batteries
I will have a collection box at the pick up points starting this week, if you would like to leave a donation when you come and grab your beans.
You will have until next Thursday to make your donations. If you want to learn more about Eagles Nest, you can check them out at www.eaglesnestint.org
Thanks for your support!
